Abstract

Dragon Boat Festival

Eating zongzi during the Dragon Boat Festival is a traditional custom of the Chinese nation. According to historical records, the practice of eating zongzi originated in the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, gradually spreading as people commemorated Qu Yuan, a minister of the Chu state. "The fragrance of zongzi fills the kitchen. The aroma of mugwort fills the hall. Peach branches are placed at the door, and a glance outside reveals the golden wheat. Here is Duan Yang, there is Duan Yang, everywhere is Duan Yang." This nursery rhyme sings of China's traditional festival - the Dragon Boat Festival.

The fragrance of zongzi warms the heart, with deep feelings for the Dragon Boat Festival. To celebrate the arrival of the Dragon Boat Festival, further promote the excellent traditional culture of the Chinese nation, and enhance team cohesion, Suzhou Xinkai organized a zongzi-making & DIY mugwort sachet activity for families on June 11.

The table was prepared with colorful threads, spices, decorative accessories, and other materials for making sachets. Everyone made their own Dragon Boat Festival sachets by hand, proceeding step by step in an orderly manner, putting beautiful and sincere blessings into the sachets. Soon, cute and well-crafted sachets were completed, and everyone took photos with their handmade sachets as keepsakes.

At the same time, pre-soaked glutinous rice, zongzi leaves, and honey dates were already laid out on the table. Experienced colleagues filled and tied various materials in zongzi leaves tightly, while inexperienced colleagues learned and observed with the help of teachers, gradually mastering the skills of making zongzi.

Everyone worked in an orderly manner, exchanging experiences in making zongzi and demonstrating various shapes of zongzi. After an hour of effort, the table was filled with beautifully shaped zongzi.

Through this activity, not only was traditional culture promoted and a strong festive atmosphere created, but it also enhanced collaboration and interaction among colleagues, stimulated team enthusiasm for work and a sense of collective belonging, strengthening cohesion within the company team.
